dKol Commercial: Organic Hudson Valley Magazine

I've kept this secret long enough...and I am overjoyed to finally announce that my first ever printed full page ad in a local publication is now available around the Hudson Valley- Organic Hudson Valley.

In addition, I am proud to tell you that I am a contributing artist in the August/September edition for a featured article titled "From Speakeasy to Wheat Grass: The Montes Are Back". You will also find an article on one of my commercial clients- Rooster Studios: "Turning Discarded Trees into Treasured Heirlooms" in which some of my photography is featured in as well as a photograph of mine for an ad they have in this issue.

I simply adore working with Laurie at OHV and can say wholeheartedly that I support their mission and work ethics! I personally cannot thank her enough for her support in my own business endeavors. It is a true joy working with a circle of businesses that not only give selflessly of their time but applaud at each others' own success.

Lastly, I'd love for you all to subscribe to her magazine (you can do so on their website) and continue to read along!

As contributing artist you can find my bio listed: Danielle is a freelance photographer behind dKol Photography. She is a left-handed lover of pens, fonts and music lyrics, and stays up entirely too late. Danielle specializes in assisting small businesses in discovering their brand through unique visual aesthetics. She strives to use stylization and photography to enhance their unique brand. You can find some of her work at www.dkolphotography.com and on social media @dKol.

Rooster Studios is ON FIRE!!!!!

Buzzfeed featured Rooster Studio's mortar and pestle! The article can be found here. BUZZFEED people...that's huge for a local small business! I am stoked that her work has been getting the attention it deserves, and I'm feeling rather proud that she attributes the publicity to her recent rebrand that we collaborated together on.

Jenn recently said about dKol Photography- "Danielle is a dream to work with. Her images of my work attracted the attention of ETSY editors that led to features on OnlineShopLove and BuzzFeed. Without her, I'd be lost. Plus, she is a great person."

It thoroughly feels amazing to know that clients entrust me to get deep into the root of their brand and help their dreams flourish! I cannot wait to see what else is in store for you Rooster!!

dKol on Love

Genuine. The epitome of true love.

Today is a studio day. I'm catching up on my super busy weekend. And in the middle of culling my work, I came across this series from Claudine and Wayne's family session. Often times during a family shoot we get caught up in the kids, but this go around I found true love in just a few moments that I stole mom and dad away while the boys played soccer.

I will be sure to share more from this entire session soon. Until then, let these words soak in-authentic, bona fide, real, love. Because when I capture you next, that's exactly how I want to find you.

dKol Families: meet Maxton

I met Jayme and Craig in 2013 for their maternity shoot when they were pregnant with Camden. I've since been a part of Camden's birth, one month old session, his second birthday, and announcing the big news that they were soon going to be a family of four after he turned three!

I got to go up to the hospital and congratulate Camden on becoming a big brother, meet Maxton, and thank Jaymie and Craig, yet again, for allowing me to document life as I know best.

Welcome Maxton...

dKol Days: Addie's Dress Making

Addie came skipping into my office and asked, "Mom, do you have any fabric I can use? I want to make my doll a dress!"

We have a creative family, one that is definitely infused with a variety of arts. Dreaming up a future costume designer, clothing designer, seamstress, prop designer...! Spent the morning documenting a self-taught artist.

Homeschool win! High Five!
